Wedding Invitations and Announcements

Wedding InvitationsThe first impression people will get of your upcoming wedding will be the invitations. So, it is one of the most important items in your Wedding Checklist. Your selection will set the tone for the entire affair. Working hand in hand with an invitation specialist is key; they will guide you through everything from the weight and style of paper to which font says it best.

With everything available from uptown traditional to downtown dramatic & chic, selecting your style for Wedding Invitations and Announcements can be a dizzying experience. If you have a theme or color palette in mind sometimes magazine images can be exceptionally handy. But there is no rule that says you have to match the Invitations to your wedding color. That’s absolutely a personal choice!

The elements that almost every formal invitation includes are double envelopes with a liner, the formal invitation (often with tissue) & the response set. If the reception is being held at a different venue than the ceremony, most invitations would also include a reception card. Quite often direction cards must also be included. If you are considering using a card provided by your venue, it is recommended that you look at it with your invitation before you decide. Direction cards are inexpensive to print and the paper contained in with the formal invitation should ideally all match.

Invitations are normally mailed four to six weeks before the wedding date. If your wedding falls around a holiday, you may mail them up to eight weeks prior to your wedding. Children over 16 years of age always receive their own invitation.

It is recommended that you order 15-25 more wedding invitations than you think you need. It can be expensive to place a smaller additional order after your initial order has been completed. You will need extra invitations for any mistakes and last minute additions to your guest list. It´s also nice to save a few as keepsakes.
